Architecture
The project consists of two buildings that are interwoven creating a “U” shaped building that reads as one unit. The guest entrance is placed on the outer edge of the building, apparent to visitors, it symbolizes hospitality and openness. The family entrance is placed in the inner edge of the building, within a semi court, symbolizing privacy and unity of the greater family.
Interior spaces are designed to interplay with the outdoor spaces blending them together to further enhance the spatial quality and living experience.
The project uses islamic patterns and screening to give a hint of local architecture while only using local finish materials also.
Being the client is a crafts man and has frequent social gatherings, the ground floor contains all the guest and recreational areas. In addition the guest entrance lobby doubles as a permanent museum for the clients mock models of his projects.
One of the design features, is a cantilivering pool that maximizes on the view and site location.
